Poor Kyla wasn’t even in the running, and Ashley was a conscientious objector, an unwilling subject, watching them fight over her, clawing at scraps.
She hated that it had become a competition. Both striving to possess her.
The old Ashley wouldn't have minded. Would have let them. Would have felt desired.
It’s different now - now she thinks she knows love.
