Right, the best thing to do now is remind yourself that she’s your superior. Ok, good. Now remember that she’s the kind of posh cow you’d throw eggs at back in school. Worse, she has a rule for bloody everything, and she makes fun of your smoothies.

It never works; you sigh and look around the bar. Who knew Ash could move her hips like that? You look at her eyes. Her eyes.

“Scribbs? Stop staring and come dansh.” She laughs at herself. “Dance.”

“No, no,” you smile weakly. “I’m right.” You’re sure she has a rule about being drunk in public. It’s probably one of the big ones.

“Come on, I insist…”

“Ash?” You watch how her arse moves to the beat of the bad eighties music. It’s wrong, like seeing your granny do the Macarena.“ Maybe it’s time I get you off to bed?”

“Bed? Some gentlemen you are…”

You roll your eyes, “You’re completely pissed, aren’t you?”

“I am not.”

“Let’s go, Ash.”

She gets really serious suddenly.

“Right, fine. I’m ready.”

You look at her sideways, unsure of why she’s been acting like this all night. She always does this when she’s had a little to drink. It’s like being on a first date and getting punished for withholding a kiss.
She walks ahead of you and shoots you a look, but doesn’t say anything.

“What?”

She shakes her head, “Nothing, alright? Hurry up.”

If you didn’t know better, you’d swear she was attracted to you.
