Title: Justification
Fandom: The West Wing
Pairing: Laurie/Janeane
Prompt: Challenge 86 - Lies
Rating: PG-13 or light R
Word Count: 250
Author's Note: Spoilers for, appropriately, Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics. Crossposted to my journal.

Janeane had lied to Laurie before. Friends lie to friends, whether people say they do or not. It wasn’t unusual for Janeane to tell little white lies to Laurie, and she knew it wasn’t unusual for Laurie to tell her little white lies either. That was how she justified making the phone call to the reporter.

Janeane had gotten Laurie drunk before. Friends take friends out to celebrate big occasions like graduations. It wasn’t unusual for Janeane to take Laurie out and buy her some drinks. And while it wasn’t as common, it wasn’t unheard of for Janeane to touch Laurie in an overly friendly way when they’d both been drinking. That was how she justified sliding her hand under Laurie’s skirt.

Janeane had taken Laurie back to her place before. Friends let friends crash at their house after they’ve been drinking. It certainly wasn’t unusual for Janeane to take Laurie back to her place. And she needed Laurie to come back with her so they could run into Sam. That was how she justified whispering promises of a fun time that night into Laurie’s ear.

Yes, she’d told some lies and sold her friend out just to make some money, and when Laurie came upstairs in tears because of what had happened, she had comforted her in the way Laurie usually comforted rich men. Because if Laurie could get paid for sex, then why shouldn’t she?

That was how she justified it all.

Title: Industry Liars
Fandom: RPFS
Pairing: Willa Ford/Sara Evans
Prompt: Challenge 86 - Lies
Rating: PG
Word Count: 150
Author's Note: Yeah, I really don't know. I blame this on my obsession with Dancing With The Stars, and the fact that Willa and Sara were being friendly. Crossposted to my journal.

The recording industry was full of liars. Everyone knew that, it didn’t come as a surprise to anyone. Willa was just as aware of the liars as everyone else was.

Except that sometimes it still surprised her when she realized that she’d been lied too. Like with Sara for instance. Willa had always been told that country singers were all just stupid white trash hicks and that she shouldn’t waste any time on them. And she’d believed that, because it was what they’d told her.

But now she’d met Sara. Sara, who was smart, funny, and incredibly sexy in her dancing outfits and certainly not white trash or a hick. Sara was even more proof that the industry was full of liars.

So Willa laughed and held Sara’s hand and kissed it for the camera, for all the industry to see. To prove that she had seen through the lies.

Title: Guilty Sex
Fandom: House MD
Pairing: Cuddy/Stacy
Prompt: Challenge 86 - Lies
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 100
Author's Note: Spoilers for Humpty Dumpty. Crossposted to my journal.

House said that guilt made her a good boss. He also said that guilt made for good sex. He’d told her she should’ve seen Stacy in the last months of their relationship, because the sex had been great because of Stacy’s guilt. He’d been trying, in his own perverse way, to make her feel better. Instead he’d made her feel guiltier.

Because she had seen Stacy in the last months of their relationship. She knew Stacy screamed. She did too. Because between the both of them they had piled up enough lies and enough guilt to make the sex amazing.
