Word Count: 150, 125, 100, 150, 250
Summary: Phil goes out of town during the world premiere of Sharktopus 8. Gloria comes over instead and chaos ensues

“I can’t believe you’re not going to be here for the world premiere of Skarktopus 8.” Claire lamented.

“I know.” Phil pouted, running his hands up and down Claire’s arms. “But it’s the first Magic Con since I took over the shop and it’s a good way to make some industry contacts.”

“I know.” Claire laid her head on his chest and he wrapped his arms around her. “You’re going to be gone. Haley is away this week, Luke is staying with friends nearer the club, and Alex is at her internship. It’s just going to be me… all alone…”

“Why don’t you invite Gloria over?” Phil suggested.

“Gloria? For Sharktopus?”

“Why not?”

“She’s more of a ‘white wine brunch,’ ‘self-defense course,’ ‘coffee date’ kind of friend.” Claire shrugged.

“Just ask her. The worst she could do is say no, right?”

Claire considered this for a moment and nodded definitively.

**

An empty bottle of Merlot sat on the coffee table and the light from the television danced over the two women on the couch.

Claire squealed in delight as sharktopus shot out of the water, grabbing the parasailer out of the water and dragging him back to the watery depths. Gloria gasped, looking over at Claire, tilting her head at the obvious glee.

“That thing just ate a person.”

“I know! Isn’t it great?” Claire grinned.

Gloria blinked in dismay.

“Turn it up, it’s getting good.” Claire leaned over Gloria, reaching for the remote. She paused, their faces inches apart.

Gloria glanced at Claire’s lips and Claire’s heart sped up. Claire’s fingers slid into Gloria’s hair and Gloria captured Claire’s lips in a bruising kiss.

**

Claire entered the café wearing large, dark sunglasses and looking around suspiciously before seeing Gloria at a corner table.

“What are you doing?” Gloria smirked as she sat down.

“We need to talk about the other night.” Claire whispered.

“You’re inside.” Gloria took Claire’s sunglasses off and Claire squinted uncomfortably. “You’re being weird.”

Claire smoothed her shirt down self-consciously. “The other night…”

Gloria couldn’t help the grin that spread across her features. “The other night was great.”

“Cannot happen again.” Claire finished. “Wait, what?”

Gloria took Claire’s hand. “I haven’t felt that great in years and you felt it too.”

**

Claire felt a full body blush overtake her. “I… I can’t deny that I… It was… very… the kissing… wow… I liked it a lot.”

“Me too, chiquita.” Gloria grinned.

“Which is why it can’t happen again.” Claire insisted.

“Why?”

“Why?” Claire scoffed. “Because I’m… because you’re… we’re married.” Claire finished softly, hoping to avoid being overheard.

“I was caught up in the adrenaline of Sharktopus.” Claire explained.

“Perdóname?” Gloria demanded.

Claire blushed again, realizing she’d said exactly the wrong thing. “Gloria…”

“I was caught up in you.” Gloria snapped, throwing her napkin down and storming out.

“Gloria!” Claire jumped up, knocking over her chair and drawing the attention of other patrons. She blushed again. “Sorry… I… just… enjoy your coffee.” She ran to the door and realized she’d left her sunglasses on the table. She snuck back to the table, grabbed the glasses and ran out of the café.

**

“Gloria, wait for me!” Claire called.

Gloria sped up, digging her keys out of her purse and making a bee line for her car. “Leave me alone.”

Claire caught up to Gloria at the door of her car. Gloria leaned against it, she squeezed her eyes shut, begging her traitorous body to stop crying.

“Claire, just let me leave with my dignity.” Gloria whispered.

“Do you want to talk about dignity?” Claire laughed. “I just knocked over my chair trying to run after you and then had to go back for my sunglasses while everyone was watching.”

Gloria smiled a little, wiping at her eyes.

“When you first joined the family, I was so flustered and upset all the time.” Claire started.

“I remember.” Gloria smirked, rolling her eyes.

“Every time Phil says or does something that reveals that he’s attracted to you, it makes me crazy.”

“What’s your point, Claire?” Gloria demanded. “That I annoy you? Because I’ve noticed.”

“I have been in lust with you since the first time I laid eyes on you.” Claire admitted. “And I…”

“You what?” Gloria asked gently.

“I’ve been in love with you for years.” Claire stepped forward. “And I let my guard down during Sharktopus. Kissing you… it’s all I’ve been thinking about since it happened. I can’t concentrate on anything. I can’t think about anything else.

“Can we talk in the car?” Claire asked. “I feel very vulnerable out here.”

Gloria nodded, hitting the unlock button on her key fob.

**

The drive was mostly silent as Gloria drove them away from the bustle of LA and out where they could have privacy.

Gloria cut the engine and turned to Claire.

“It’s hard to be around you sometimes.” Claire admitted. “And it’s not your fault, per se, but I usually take it out on you.”

“I just thought you were a cabrona.”

Claire grinned. “And you’re into me anyway.” She slipped her fingers into Gloria’s hair.

“Of course I’m into mean women, I’m Colombian.” Gloria teased.

Their lips touched softly. Claire whimpered against Gloria, parting her lips invitingly. Gloria dragged her closer, tugging on her insistently. Claire tried to get over the center console to get closer as the kiss intensified.

Claire yelped in surprise when she heard a knock on the passenger side window.

They separated, breathlessly, leaning back in their seats. Gloria rolled down the passenger side window.

“This is a public park, ladies.” The officer said, containing a laugh.

“Yup. Mhm.” Claire nodded, embarrassed. “Sorry.”

“There’s no one else here.” Gloria insisted.

“Gloria, shush.” Claire hissed.

“We’re not doing anything wrong.” Gloria continued.

Claire reached over and put her hand over Gloria’s mouth. “We understand and we’re leaving now.” She smiled at the officer.

“You ladies have a good rest of your day.” He stepped back, still trying not to laugh. “Stay out of trouble.”

After the officer drove off, Gloria smirked. “What was that? With the hand?”

“Keeping us from getting a ticket.” Claire scoffed.

Title: Room 17
Author: Coco | madampresident | grrriliketigers on AO3
Fandom: Modern Family | Claire Dunphy/Gloria Delgado-Pritchett
Prompt: 590 Remainder → 584 Slick
Word Count: 100, 100
Summary: Claire and Gloria decide to just get it out of their systems…

“This makes sense, right?” Claire asked. “I mean… just get it out of our systems.”

“Exactly.” Gloria agreed.

“Here’s your key.” The receptionist announced; Claire jumped. “Room 17.”

“Gracias.” Gloria accepted the key.

Claire’s heart pounded as they made their way to #17. “This is it. There’s no turning back if we go in there.”

“I don’t wanna turn back.” Gloria admitted. “...do you?”

“No.” Claire shook her head. She was poised to add that she was afraid that it wouldn’t be enough. She wanted to say that she was afraid it would just be adding fuel to a wildfire.

**

The first time Gloria’s hands touched Claire’s bare skin, she thought she was going to implode. Her moans encouraged Gloria to continue her quest. Gloria cupped Claire’s breasts, thumbs brushing over sensitive nipples and Claire whimpered.

Gloria pulled off Claire’s sweater, revealing her nude torso. Gloria grinned hungrily and Claire throbbed with arousal, aching for Gloria to consume her.

Gloria’s mouth latched onto a nipple and Claire took her hand, slipping it past the waistband of her yoga pants, raising her hips encouragingly.

Gloria’s fingers slipped easily into Claire’s wetness, pressing her clit; Gloria moaned appreciatively against Claire’s heated skin.
