"I told you I'd find you," you whisper, embracing me. Your heady aroma wraps around me, comforting. "The compass worked!"
It would've always pointed to me, but that doesn't matter. It's not the reason we found each other tonight. I followed you. My wolf's nose can pick up your scent hundreds of miles away. I'll tell you about it, and my journey, but not tonight. Tonight, I only want to hold you.
Tomorrow we'll talk about my nose, your scent, and our journeys. Tomorrow we'll go back to fighting the good fight, to freeing the citizens of Oz, but not tonight. Tonight, I only want to love you. As your lips press against mine, I know that not only does my desire match yours perfectly, just as we match, two halves of one whole, but all you want to, for at least tonight, is to love me too. And that's enough.
"Welcome home, wolfy."
I make a sound in the back of my throat. Wolves don't purr, but if they could, I would. You make me purr. You give me love; you give me hope. Your arms are my home in this crazy world, and I'm home again at last. "Let me show you," I whisper, laying you down, "how much I've missed you," and I do. With my tongue, hands, and lips, I cherish you. I make love to you. Not a moment is wasted now as our love carries us together through the night and into another new day.
