They meet up and spend the night together. And it feels like old times. Sometimes they have sex and sometimes they just talk for hours on end.
But outside of a hotel room, the bubble is broken. Their relationship is broken. There are no other types of text messages and their in person encounters are mostly icy silence.
Then one will text and they step back in time.

Alex cups Erin’s cheeks, leaning her forehead against Erin’s.
“I’m sorry.” Erin whispers.
“I forgive you.” Alex whispers back, peppering Erin’s cheeks and lips with tender kisses. “I forgive you.”
