A/N: Both drabbles are dedicated to the growing J/R community and to
radak, who not only gave us all the lovely icons, but gave me
the ideas behind these ficlets.
Summary: Roslin and her 'little' lapses in judgment.
Space owns a distance that only gods dare to walk alone.
The ship pierces the vacuum like Apollo’s arrow, settling by the prow of Roslin’s carrier. Voyager leans starboard and sneaks furtive glances into her windows.
There, beyond the cold and dark, stands a figure as lonely as she.
They had shaken hands at the hangar, searched each other’s eyes. They kept provocative, solitary secrets to themselves while the pomp of diplomacy peeled them apart. Roslin could have risked everything and spoken.
And yet…
The girl in her bed stirs, nudged by dreams of flying, Vipers, and stars -perhaps not.

Summary: A moment of weakness.
You feel stretched out, sticky-thin, like jam on too much bread. She presses with her fingers, searching for solutions in deep, river-running parts of you. She kisses your lips and leaves a stream of equations with the tip of her tongue: confusion, yearning…even pain.
“I…can’t,” you say, assaulted by blonde memories, and metal star bursts, and skin like porcelain, baked in youth.
Quite different from this new creature before you: dark hair tangled, all-soft, and pressed with years.
She whispers into your ear, “Neither can I,” continuing while guilt sinks into the undertow and the tide sweeps you both away.
