Denise's plot is over grown with weeds, the words engraved on her tombstone faded with rain and time. "A loving friend, girlfriend and amazing doctor" it read. It was true, but Tara wished there was more to it.
Her oatmeal cookies had been delicious, her lips had tasted like honey, her skin smelled like cinnamon.
Thinking back, Tara thought she had told Denise everything. But now, she realized she had left much more unsaid.
Tears blurred her vision, wondering why she hadn't said these things to Denise back then.
The only thing she tasted now was sorrow, bitter, but sweet.
