Ellie lay in the bed of her truck, looking up at the night sky. Jules was curled up next to her, her head resting on Ellie’s shoulder, one arm draped over Ellie’s waist.
Jules twitched and mumbled something in her sleep, wriggling closer. Ellie stroked the other woman’s hair and Jules smiled against Ellie’s skin. Ellie felt a chill run through her body.
Ellie watched the sleeping woman for a few minutes before pressing a kiss to her forehead.
“You love me, you big softie.” Jules murmured with a grin.
“Shhh. You’re dreaming. This is only a dream.” Ellie insisted.

Jules liked to go surfing with Ellie.
Not because she particularly liked surfing but she liked to watch Ellie surf. It was one of the only situations where Ellie seemed completely content and happy.
Jules also liked to see Ellie in her wetsuit. Especially liked watching Ellie getting into her wetsuit. Sometimes Ellie even asked her to help.
They’d been best friends and occasional lovers for over twenty years. Jules wanted to be with Ellie forever. They could get a little house on the beach and go surfing every day and drink wine all night.
Sounded like heaven to Jules.
