"You're not afraid?" Rogue asks, genuinely surprised.
Kitty shakes her head and smiles. "Of course not. Besides, you might find it fun to walk through walls."
"But, I could suck the energy right out of you," she insists. "You could wind up unconscious. Or worse."
Kitty looks at her earnestly with her brown eyes, not bothered by the prospect of ending up in a hospital. "This sounds cheesy, but just trust yourself, tell your body and mind not to hurt anyone."
Rogue looks down at Kitty's hand. "Um, well, okay."
She swallows and slowly reaches out, her hand visibly shaking.
Rogue's hand hovers over Kitty's for a second, before clasping it.

The blue woman leans closer to her, her skin the color of sapphires and smells of trees. "You think you can't control it, and that fear makes your power go haywire, and bam!--people start dropping."
She sighs. "How would you know this? Our powers are--"
"Different? Hardly. I steal people's identities, you steal people's abilities and life source. They're basically the same, but I'd say you're the more dangerous one, especially when you're scared."
Rogue looks at her, mesmerized by Mystique's gold eyes.

Madge nods and adjusts herself.
"Don't pull the string too hard or it might break."
The target is twenty-feet away, not too far or too close.
Madge's jaw is set in concentration, her knuckles white.
"Set your feet apart a little more, to get a better angle," Katniss goes on.
The girl shifts her feet, swallowing hard.
"And most importantly, aim with you're eyes, and the arrow will finish the rest."
Madge squints, and releases it.

Carmilla snickers. "Why, because I don't enjoy the finer things?"
