Riley was sitting on the edge of the pier, looking out towards the horizon where the last hint of sunlight was escaping to allow the night to slowly take over. It was really beautiful, but Riley couldn't admire it. She glanced towards where Sven was carrying an unconscious Will inside the ship; reliving the night she lost it all was harsh, and now this... it was just so much...
Upon returning her eyes to the front, she discovered she wasn't alone. Sun was sitting next to her, wearing her usual prison clothes and with a concerned look on her face. Riley brushed it off, looking away from her.
"I'm fine."
"No, you're not" Sun replies, and Riley knows it's stupid lying to her; they share each others' emotions too, after all. "And that's ok."
"How can that be ok?" Riley mutters, a lonely tear streaming down her cheek.
"Because it's supposed to hurt. But that's why I'm here" Sun places her hand on top of Riley's; she feels her touch, despite Sun being on the other side of the globe, a fact that never ceases to amaze her. "I understand how much it hurts, because I feel it too. And I'm here to help you through this pain..."
Sun takes her free hand and cleans the tear off Riley's face. And for a minute, Riley allows herself to believe the korean woman's words. She holds Sun's hand tighter.
"Don't let go" she whispers.
Sun smiles. "I won't."
