Summary: Kate and Theresa abide by seven simple rules.
A/N: The rules are taken from the show. I tweaked only one to fit this drabble. =)
Rule 1: Enjoy your life in Wayward Pines.
Theresa still resents Kate for what she'd did back then but it was Ethan's fault they were all stuck here to begin with. Might as well make the most of it.
Rule 2: Be happy.
"You look like you're taking a liking to this place," Ethan says.
"It's not the worst place I've ever lived at," Theresa says, smiling as she thinks of Kate.
Rule 3: Work hard.
Kate twists beneath Theresa, her breath stuck in her throat as the headboard slams against the wall.
Rule 4: Never use the phone.
They meet at the corner of Theresa's street, avoiding eye contact. Between them a piece of paper slips between hands.
Ethan's working all night. See you at 11pm.
Rule 5: Do not discuss the past.
"I really am sorry for--"
Theresa cuts Kate off with a hand wave. "I'd rather not get into that while I'm naked and cuddling you."
Rule 6: Do not discuss your life before.
"Do you miss Seattle?" Kate asks.
Theresa shrugs and stares into her cup of coffee. "I try not to think about it."
Rule 7: Do not try to leave.
"Where would you go," Theresa asks, "if you could leave this place for a day?"
Kate smiles sadly. "I'd visit my mother. If she's still alive. You?"
"Don't laugh, but I miss McDonald's," Theresa says.
Kate can't keep the bubble of laughter down and soon Theresa is laughing beside her.
