The wound isn’t really more than a graze, annoying rather than painful. But Natasha settles back and lets Doctor Cho work her magic, just the same.
It’s not exactly a bad thing, having injuries healed so easy, and she’s pretty sure the good doctor is always looking for an excuse to tinker with her toys, looking for guinea pigs to be test subjects.
For her part, this is one experience where Natasha likes being a guinea pig.
Doctor Cho, Helen, she’s interesting. Smart and a little awkward with it at times, a little clumsy in social situations. But she has this natural grace that covers for it more often than not, this aura that exudes skill and intellect.
Natasha’s always appreciated how ‘no nonsense’ Helen can be. Moving with brisk efficiency, master of her domain. She’s never rough, but she examines each wound with detached curiosity and has no problem prodding or ordering fully-fledged superheroes to lie how she wants them.
But not with Natasha.
At first she treated Natasha like the other Avengers, which Natasha appreciates very much.
But now her hands slide carefully over Natasha’s skin as she examines her latest injury, and she’s not brusque, she’s gentle, averting her eyes with the slightest flush on her face when she catches Natasha watching her.
She’s definitely interesting, and not just for her brilliant mind.
Natasha ‘accidentally’ lets her hand brush Helen’s, and that gets her this amazing small but playful smile that promises something more.
Very interesting indeed.
