It caught her off guard when she got back to her place at four in the morning to find Violet sitting on her step, tears pouring down her cheeks.
"He left me, Lil." She sobbed.
"Jesus Christ, Jersey." Was all Lil could think to say.
So she let her body do the talking, taking her anger and frustration over the past two years of barely seeing her out on the already broken younger woman.
And it had been so long, and Violet deserved more than a sympathy fuck, but Lil didn't know what to say, so afterwards she just laid there, not touching her, watching the particles of dust filter through the shafts of light coming through the window.
