Mrs. Danvers wanted Rebecca only for herself. From the time Rebecca was a child, Mrs. Danvers was her maid. She constantly petted Rebecca, and groomed her to be everything she wanted. Rebecca was a beautiful child and her beauty only grew as she aged. But she was a wicked thing as well, something that first vexed, and later pleased Mrs. Danvers to no end. Rebecca’s parents paid her little mind, and so they had no idea when their daughter and her maid began an illicit affair.
When Rebecca told her she was getting married, Mrs. Danvers was livid. How dare anyone try to take Rebecca from her. But Rebecca assured her their affair would not end, and so Mrs. Danvers was contented. Soon, however Maxim and then Jack began taking her place in Rebecca’s life, something Mrs. Danvers was not pleased about at all.
And though Rebecca, her Rebecca, was dead she refused to let anyone try to take her place. That stupid little girl thought that she could take Rebecca’s place as wife and host of Manderley. But Mrs. Danvers would prove her wrong. Because Rebecca was hers, and Mrs. Danvers wouldn’t let anyone stand between her and Rebecca.

And it seemed that one day had finally arrived. Sam watched as Mary became less of a good girl and began to get some sass. When Mary had abused her whale along with Delinda, Sam had been surprised. When she had yelled at her and gave her attitude while planning the wedding, Sam had been impressed. And when Mary had grabbed her and kissed her, Sam had been turned on. Yes, Sam definitely liked the new Mary.

She couldn’t get in water, because it burned. She didn’t know why, but she knew that if water met her skin, it was as though someone had put a flame on it. She managed to stay clean with oils, and it didn’t bother her.
But now, sitting on her bed, she could hear Galinda singing in the shower. And she began to imagine her, standing under the spray, naked, with water sliding over her body. And she imagined getting into the shower and running her hands all over Galinda’s soapy body. And for the first time, Elphaba missed the water.
