drabbletag discussion and poll
So, let's talk about drabbletag!
As I have said before, previous rounds of drabbletag have not even been close to how active this one is, so I kind of don't really have any precedent on how to proceed with things.
I am more than happy to just keep going if that's what everyone wants, but I am becoming concerned about how unwieldy the prompt posts are getting. We've currently got fourteen posts of filled and unfilled prompts and four of those are edging towards the lj post size limit (which is 65,000 characters, random fact!) so we'll be up to eighteen before too long. Which is, you know, a lot. :)
As I see it, our options are:
1. Keep this round going unchanged for now. I would have no problem with this if people aren't finding the multiple posts too awkward.
2. Change the rules to fill one prompt, leave one prompt only and keep the round going. This would slow down the posts but still give everyone fresh prompts to write.
3. Change to fills only, no prompting, with the aim of getting as many prompts as possible filled before starting a new round. You'd still comment with your filled prompt and I'd move it to the filled posts, but no new prompts would be allowed. I don't know how soon people would want a new round? I'd suggest a month or two at least... no later than the new year definitely, with prompt filling open right up until we started up again. Tell me what you think on the timing, if you'd like this option.
4. Close things down completely and start a new round. Obviously there would be a notice period, we wouldn't close straight away, and I have no idea whether it would be better to start a new round immediately or wait a while, so let me know on that.
That's all I can come up with, but if you've got a different or better idea, please comment!
I'm going to put these options in a poll because I know there'll be a wider response that way, but a poll is by its nature pretty limited so I would encourage everyone to comment as well if you'd like to expand on what you would prefer to happen.
Also I'm going to head you off at the pass here because I know some of you lovely and nice people are going to say 'whatever is easiest for you as the mod' and while I am incredibly appreciative of the fact that you all are so considerate like that (seriously, you guys really are extremely awesome ♥♥♥) what I want more than anything else is for the comm to stay active, so speak up! :)
