The fire on Nostromo was put out with little difficulty. A shield had blown during the landing on the planet and everyone checked their consoles.
Ripley heard the thud of Lambert's boots as she came to stand beside her. She put an arm around the back of Ripley's chair.
"I've got to check with Brett and Parker," she said. Her fingers trembled as she pressed the communicator. Lambert was much too close; she could feel the heat from her body and images played through her mind : Lambert's hands on her thighs, her lips at her breast, her voice low and moaning as she came.
She shook her head to banish these thoughts and talked to the mechanics. She and Lambert may be secret lovers but to the crew they must always remain strangers.
