“Are you kidding me with this, Ellie?” Jules snaps, marching down the driveway.
Ellie just waves a dismissive hand, looking insufferably smug. Jules mutters irritably as she climbs into the back of Ellie’s truck, before stretching out beside her.
“If you use Big Carl as leverage to get me off the couch ever again, I swear we won’t be friends anymore,” Jules complains, snatching the oversized glass from Ellie’s waiting fingers.
“I wanted to drink wine in my truck, we never drink out here,” Ellie scoffs. She’s fashioned an extra-long straw out of several regular straws, so she can drink without lifting her head.
“Because it’s cold and there are spiders,” Jules informs her bluntly. “And you better have made me one of those straws too.”
Ellie dutifully hands over a second extended straw. “You can see the stars out here.”
“Like I don’t have windows in my house?” Jules snorts, taking an impressive sip. “I can’t believe you held Big Carl hostage.”
“I took good care of him,” Ellie insists, stroking the glass slowly, her voice dropping to something more sensual. “Maybe you could let me take care of you next.”
“We’re not screwing in the back of your truck! All the neighbours can see us,” Jules says with a roll of her eyes.
“That’s the point,” Ellie purrs, reaching across to hook a finger under the waistband of Jules’ jeans. “Let them all see how hot we look.”
Jules smiles, considering. “Well, I do look good in streetlight.”
