Perhaps this was always meant to be.
Emma Swan, the saviour, the product of true love.
Regina Mills, the evil queen, daughter of a heartless woman.
They balance each other, white magic against dark. A woman who had a family and threw it away, beside a woman who’s searched for family her whole life. They revolve around Henry, around each other, drawn in like magnets.
They have their similarities, of course. They’re both jaded, abandoned, hurt and used to being alone. Maybe that’s why this keeps happening, these hungry kisses and the pull of clothing as they scratch and tear and yearn.
Maybe they ceased to be able to exist without each other from that very first meeting.
There’s something about them that’s cosmic and inevitable, but Regina doesn’t want to listen to it. Fate hasn’t been kind to her, and she doesn’t want to believe there’s a power beyond their own lust that could have drawn them together. Such a belief will only lead to disappointment and pain, and she can’t go through that again, she just can’t.
So she holds on to Emma, pushes her against the wall, or the bed, or her desk. Holds Emma tight, fucks her with a passion she can’t admit to out loud. Lets Emma undo her with every touch of her hands and her lips, knowing she’s being remade, piece by piece.
Perhaps this was always meant to be, but for now Regina needs to believe it’s her choice, destiny be damned.
