You guyyyss.
I commissioned the wonderfully, amazingly talented
ile_o to do an illustration for the sequel to
Black Coffee on a Lonely Night that I'll be working on this summer. (I'm knocking out a couple of lingering projects in the next six-eight weeks, and then I'll get to revel in the Ashes and cricket players and LibDem politics and Harry and Draco and Scorpius and YAY.)
The full art is posted
here on
hd_fanart, and you should go tell
ile_o how awesome it is. I am still flaily at her. I mean, ZOMG, it's Harry and Draco and Scorpius on the pitch at
Lord's Cricket Ground in London, and Draco's in his England cricket whites post-match and his shoulders, dear God. And then there's the red mark on his trousers that bowlers get from rubbing the ball against their thighs. And Harry in a suit coat, holding Scorpius and leaning in to kiss Draco.
*FLAILS MOAR*
My joy, she cannot be contained. :D
And it goes so well with the art
glockgal did for the original fic. :D :D :D :D
So now I have a new journal layout--well,
on LJ at least, not DW, I can't bear to take down
pierced Draco there--that contains my two great loves: Harry/Draco and England cricket. \0/\0/\0/\0/\0/\0/
(Speaking of the latter, I was reading
this article in the Guardian today by Charlie Booker about the AV referendum, and hit this paragraph:
Then some well-known former cricketers popped up on YouTube to moan that AV just isn't cricket. David Gower said, "I'm used to a system in sport - in cricket specifically - where if you win, you win, and it's as simple as that." Cricket? Simple? Any sport in which the commentator routinely says things like, "England are currently 120 for 3 and chasing 257 - so with 7 wickets in hand and 17 overs remaining, they need to hit a run rate of 8.1 an over" is far from bloody simple.
My immediate response was "Please, that is so easy to understand..." *long pause* "Oh, God. I've officially become a cricket fan." *facepalm*)
In other news,
noeon and I have been doing a rewatch of the third season of The West Wing lately and now we have decided to put our heads together and plot out an H/D version set in the Ministry. Harry Potter = Josh Lyman. I'M JUST SAYING. <3 <3 <3
