So guess who gave me Communion today at church? *beams* The Right Reverend V. Gene Robinson, the openly gay bishop in the Episcopal Church's New Hampshire diocese. *BEAMS EVEN MORE*
He is so awesome. Seriously. I heart him an awful lot because he's the one who proved to me that it was entirely possible to balance my sexuality and my religion without dissolving into a puddle of self-flagellating guilt. I might fangirl him a bit, if it's possible for one to fangirl a bishop.
How glad am I that I was scheduled for Altar Guild today, because I was tired and probably wouldn't have gone in, and I would have been horrified if I missed his sermon. Of course, today was also my first Sunday being in co-charge of Altar Guild and making sure everything was set up properly but hey, what's life without a little pressure? :D Fortunately, there were no horrifically embarrassing mishaps, no LEMs frantic about missing chalices or patens or purificators, and we had more wine and wafers than we needed and none were dropped while being presented. *collapses in relief*
And now I have French bread and smoked gouda and broccoli soup and good H/D fic to curl up with. Mmmm. I might even take a wee nap. Maybe. Sunday afternoons are awesome. \0/
