Okay. It's official. The Christmas season has begun. I have now sniffled my way through the end of Elf.
Christmas movies always make me all deliciously maudlin and lump-in-my-throaty. I have entirely no shame in this. After going through a Scroogish period during my twenties, I now get terribly sentimental about the holidays. Especially since my dad died. Christmas was one of his favourite times of year and one of my absolute best childhood memories ever is of when I was five and he climbed up onto the roof of our house on Christmas Eve after I'd gone to bed and walked around with some jingle bells right over my room, then threw two trash bags filled with leaves to the ground next to my window.
I was certain for years that I'd heard Santa. He didn't 'fess up until well after I stopped believing.
So, yeah. Slap a Santa hat on me and toss a few candy canes my way. :D
Now I have to go write some more on merry_smutmas.
