Rankings Post!
Here it is. As promised. The post in which I rank my boys and my bands. Skip if you like. I know not all of you are into KPOP.
Favorite KPOP Bands in Descending Order!
1. DBSK - I’m sure you’re all surprised. But they’re pretty, they have great music, they sound awesome live, and they were my first. You never forget your first.
2. Epik High - Their music is brilliant beyond brilliant, and they’re right up there with Trent and NIN as far as writing awesome music that touches my soul and says everything I’ve ever felt and couldn’t put into words.
3. U-KISS - Yes, they’re new to me, but there isn’t a song on their album that I don’t like. And that’s saying something, believe you me.
4. Minwoo - He’s the only member of a band who went solo on this list to get his own number. Sorry JunJin and Seungri and Taeyang. Most of the songs on his albums are very danceable and likeable and have been played on repeat by me many a time. Even his slower songs are good. His early stuff is kinda rubbish, and I wasn’t expecting much from his last album M Rizing, but I’ll be damned if it isn’t my favorite. Go you skanky-oppa!
5. Super Junior/Shinhwa - Yes folks, we have a tie. While I love and adore both bands, each of their albums only has about 3-4 songs on them that I actually like, and I end up skipping/not listening to the rest of them. So yeah. That’s my decision.
6. Outsider - He’s awesome and I love him and his music, but a lot of his songs kinda start to sound alike after you listen to them. Especially on his first album, Soliloquist. Doesn’t make me love him any less. Just means I don’t listen to him as much as I should.
7. Big Bang - Their songs are catchy, they usually have a good beat to them, but I can’t listen to them for long periods of time. To me, they’re like empty calories. I can listen to all their albums, but it doesn’t feel like I’ve listened (eaten) any of them. It’s hard to describe, but usually I feel kinda…bereft after listening to a Big Bang album. I can handle an occasional song every now and then and still like them, though.
8. Rain - Each one of his albums only has 3-4 songs on it that I like. But the ones I do like, get played to death. Lemme tell ya. I especially love You for some reason.
9. K. Will - I initially only liked him ‘cause he was working with Outsider. But he’s actually pretty good. It’s just that most of his songs are kinda mellow and have a jazz/R&B feel to ‘em, that I need to be in a certain mood to listen to.
10. 2 PM - I tried. I really did. But I just can’t get into their music. The remix for Again and Again is okay, but other than that, they bore me.
Mah Harum
Real/actual people. Not anime characters or TV/movie characters, and this is all strictly KPOP related.
1. Yoochun - This boy, will pretty much always be my top pick. He owns my soul. Cherrelle asked me why I liked him so much once. I told her it’s because he’s damaged. Which isn’t the only reason, but it helps. Yes, I’ll admit it. But he also has tattoos and an adorable laugh and gorgeous lips and a voice that makes my knees go weak… *sigh* You ever want to force me to do something, find a way to get Yoochun to say it. He turns me into putty.
2. Han Geng - I love this guy so much. He’s adorable and sweet and caring and funny and dorky. It seems like it would be impossible to be sad around him. I also adore his laugh.
3. Kangin - He’s actually kinda tied for second with Hannie, but Cherrelle made me choose which one I’d rather be in a long term relationship with, and I chose Hannie. But Kangin is goofy and sweet and protective, and he seems like a teddy bear. I bet he gives good hugs.
4. Junsu - Boy looks all sunshine and sweet and innocent, and then he starts dancing. Whew! *fans self* That boy’s hips were made to sin. But he’s also a big goober at times, and that makes him all the more loveable.
5. Soohyun - Boy is built, cute, has a great voice, and is somewhat damaged. He really doesn’t think he’s cute or attractive. Which makes me want to squish him and tell him he’s wrong. We’ve established that I like damaged goods, yes?
6. T.O.P - Didn’t like him at first. But he’s grown on me. I blame his sense of humor and his voice. *shivers* Oooooh, his voice.
7. Dongwan - He’s funny and smart and cute. I really got nothing more to add to that.
Guys Who Have Been Slated Into The “Friends” Category”
In no particular order.
1. Leetuek - He’s prettier than me. He looks like he has some self-esteem issues, he’s girlier than me, and I’m just not that attracted to him.
2. Jaejoong - Again, prettier than me. Also, seems like it would take him longer to get ready. And more than a little vain. And random. But he looks like he’d be a blast to hang out with. Plus I kinda want to see if he’ll chase a flashlight around the room like cats do.
3. Yunho - Seems a little too serious, and he looks like he’d have a hard time letting loose. Plus, he seems so gay it hurts. And dude wants 20 kids!?!?
4. Eli - (U-KISS) Boy is funny and cute, but seems a little gay. And he seems WAY too smooth. He’d probably be dating 3 other girls at the same time he’s dating me, and then do something to make me forgive him. Yeah.
5. Alexander - (U-KISS) Very feminine. But smart and cute and random and speaks like, 7 different languages. But too high maintenance for me. Pass!
6. Kevin - (U-KISS) Unbelievably feminine. I seriously doubt this boy’s sexual preferences. But he’s adorable and fun, so we can hang out and try to pick up guys.
7. Andy - (Shinhwa) He seems more like a little brother to me. Even though he’s older than I am. I feel protective of him for some reason.
8. Donghae - …I don’t know. Just never really attracted to him. He seems more like a drinking buddy to me. Next!
9. Heechul - Do I really need to elaborate on this? Way to pretty. Way too high maintenance. Possibly gay - my theory is he’ll sleep with anyone so long as they’re “beautiful”, but not prettier than him. But he’s quirky and fun, he seems cool.
10. Kibum - (Super Junior) Who I will now refer to as “Toad” (to be explained in a different post. He’s cute and has a nice voice, but seems very career focused and honestly, he hasn’t been around long enough for me to form an opinion on him. He’s always out doing his own thing.
11. Eunhyuk - I will go dancing with that boy anytime. He’s dorky and cute, but yeah. Not really interested.
12. Shindong - I’m also strangely protective of him as well. He also seems like a little brother to me. But he’s fun and knows how to laugh, even at himself, so he’s cool with me.
13. Sungmin - Cutie! With a strangely deep voice and looks like he likes to have fun. But again, little brother to me.
14. Daesung - (Big Bang) This kid, I am ridiculously protective of. He’s got such a great smile and voice, and then he was talking about how no one liked him when he first started training with Big Bang. Seriously, I would mess someone up if I found out they were talking shit about such a nice guy.
Guys Who I Really Like But Are Strictly Off Limits for One Reason or Another
1. Siwon - I pushed him on Cherrelle, and that was my mistake. He might be a diehard Christian, but I could fix that. *sigh* But that won’t happen.
2. Changmin - He is Cherrelle’s all time favorite, and she said if I ever made a move on him, she would take my Chun and my Hannie. So I will never do more than casually glance at him…that she knows about.
3. Kyuhyun - Cherrelle got to him first. But he’s funny and adorable and has a phenomenal voice. *sigh*
4. Eric - (Shinhwa) Again. Cherrelle. *shakes her fist*
5. JunJin - (Shinhwa) See above.
6. Minwoo - He’s mine, but he seems like such a…skank. I’d be afraid I’d catch something from him. Boy’s beautiful and fun, but I don’t want an STD.
7. Rain - Guy seems like a diva/psycho. Like he seriously needs anger management issues. And therapy. And anti-psychotics. So I will look, but I won’t touch.
Guys Who Are On My “Never” List
1. Yesung - (Super Junior) Boy is weird and tries waaaaaaaay to hard to get people to like him. Plus he says something stupid/insulting whenever he opens his mouth. And he’s not exactly nice to my Shindong. Boy needs to watch out. *cracks knuckles*
2. Ryeowook - Boy’s a sweetheart, but looks like a lesbian. And he’s tiny! And just…no. Not interested. We could maybe be friends. But no.
3. Hyesung - (Shinhwa) Boy seems like a diva and a drama queen. Also he seems distant and uppity. From what I can tell he turns into a decent guy when he’s had a few, but usually has a stick up his ass.
