What I'm doing...

Nothing! It's actually kinda great.

I have a side project, fact checking part of a high school textbook, that I'm working on for a little extra dough that's due tomorrow. I'm excited about getting done with it, because it's torture. The tedium is insane. Besides that... not much at all.

I'm watching a lot of tv on netflix, on my wii! I officially love that thing. I'm way too broke to buy games yet, so I'm just going to test my friend's games until the summer's over. Right now I'm starting Fringe season 1. I've seen about half of the season but I'm watching the whole thing from beginning... and remembering how much I loved it when it debuted. AWESOME! Really can't wait to catch up.

The summer tv season is a little, blah. Nothing I'm super excited about at all. But here's what I'm watching/will be watching soon:

Pretty Little Liars
Hawthorne
Leverage
The Gates
Futurama
Eureka
Doctor Who
True Blood
Hung
and a bunch of reality shows that generally suck... *shrug* Well, except for Top Chef. Food makes every show better.

But mostly I'm catching up on movies:

My crazy friend and I ended up at a midnight showing of Eclipse because... well, she's crazy. And that movie was... a mess. But it was better than New Mooon, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. I finally saw Date Night and... wow. I really didn't think it was possible for Steve Carell and Tina Fey to just NOT make me laugh. so sad.

I'm looking forward to seeing Cairo Time soon. It seems way too romantic for life, and Alexander Siddig is sexy, distinguished older man... just like I like 'em.

I'm also recommending the hell out of Timer with Emma Caulfield. That movie is officially my favoritest thing of the summer. If you have netflix, it's on instant view. WATCHIT! A funny, sorta off, sci fi-ish romantic comedy. <3 Check the trailer:

And I'm stocking up on movies for London for some entertainment. I'll be there on "business" for the first time so I'm trying to plan against going out all the time and sabotaging my research. But we'll see how that works. I'm also looking for a place to say. I'm almost certainly going to end up in a dorm which is great b/c I'll be saving money, but a little awkward when I think about the fact that I'm almost 30 and dorms have always creeped me out. But I'm on a grad school budget so... that's life.

I'm finally writing again. And reading too. The generals process killed me, so it's been great to get back. I opened my writing folder and realized yesterday that I had at least 2 active WIP and partials of a couple one shots (Vampire Diaries and Cold Case) as well as a short piece in my Ordinary People series. I also started a new story inspired by this pic from tokenblkgirl:

mmmmmhmmmm I'm really excited about this one actually!

Besides that, I'm taking some time to relax and read lots of fiction. I just finished Anne Bishop's Dreams Made Flesh and I'm considering reading Tangled Webs by her or Nick Hornby's How to Be Good. We'll see what sticks. And I'm still plugging through a bunch of other books that haven't grabbed me lately, as evidenced by my shelfari. *sigh*

So... how are yall doing!??! Reading anything good? Writing anything?

Also, I'm officially calling Germany to win the World Cup. That team has been on fire!!!! They've even won me over and I'm... really not a fan of what I've see/read/heard about that country. But damn if their soccer team isn't the real deal!

reading, rupert penry jones, world cup, alexander siddig, life, movies, time, books, writing, richard armitage
