I love Buffy THIS MUCH!

A minor crisis was just averted that would have kept me from making this post. hommenerd was apparently in the apartment today while I was at work and managed to lock me out of the bedroom wherein lies my computer and all my clothes and my Tivo and everything else that matters. kittyzams gets props for keeping me calm on the phone while I swore and destroyed the the doorknob with a screwdriver. *deep breath*

Right, so anyway, I've seen a lot of other people do this exercise where you write about what "Character X" is like in your fanon/fic. This might be slightly wonky as a result of my bipolar shippiness, but bear with me and keep in mind that MY Buffy is the same girl regardless of who she's snogging. And so I now present...

My Buffy...

-Is over twenty-one.

-Gets kissy-face all over Spike or Faith.

-Still loves Angel and wouldn't be utterly surprised were she to find out that some of your Buffys are running off into fluffy clouds/angsting/having hot monkey sex with him.

-Loves to dance.

-Thinks that Christina Aguilera is way better than Britney and always has, even before she married Kevin and got super lame. Hey, "Genie in a Bottle" is a really fun song.

-Eventually forgives Giles for trying to kill Spike, because she *has* to in order to feel whole, not because it is easy.

-Is actually really good at math but finds it boring.

-Doesn't exactly think of herself as a lesbian but doesn't care if you do. She loves Faith, all right? (And she's not ashamed of it.) Although not so much when she steals all of the covers or goads Andrew into some weird rant. OK, fine Buffy loves her then too, but those things are really annoying. (This comes from the future!fuffy that only exists in my brain as of yet.)

-Works really hard at being a good teacher to the bitty slayers.

-Thinks the idea of S/A is rilly hawt. See this.

-Doesn't talk about sex except with people she's fucking. She had to talk to Dawn about it once in her Big Sister role and that was really squicky.

-Misses her mom horribly every time Dawn has a major life event like graduating from high school.

-Won't tell anyone but is kinda sad that Mr. Gordo went down with Sunnydale.

-Doesn't understand Spike and Faith's musical tastes and doesn't plan to start.

-Is slowly coming to accept her own perviness...in a happy way.

-Is totally susceptible to reverse psychology.

-Gets pissy when people tease her about watching American Idol.

-Likes to sleep with lots of blankets and pillows.

-Realizes that she doesn't *need* those new boots, but wants them anyway.

-Tries to hide her "Double Fudge Chunk" from usurpers.

-Tells some things only to Willow and other things only to Xander.

-Never gives up.

-Has learned to love being a Slayer.

Other references: My nerdy Buffy-love essay, There Goes My Hero... or these two vignettes that are really ship manifestos masquerading as fic:

Buffy/Spike - And the Beat Goes On.

Buffy/Faith - Dreaming of We.

Also! I have a stack of papers to grade tomorrow and in order to keep my brain active (heh) I am sending out a plea for Spike/Angel fic recs to read during my breaks. What's your favorite/the hottest/represents the ship to you? This would be very helpful to me as I am a Spangel neophyte (not in thinking about it but in actually reading it extensively). One caveat: No Buffy bashing please! This doesn't mean that I want her to be in the fic (although I'm interested in that too), I just don't want to hear my girl get slammed.

Completely random tangent: My RL lovelies loveablefag and loveablefaghag are reaching new heights of mania in their preoccupation with Brokeback Mountain. They have now seen it 16 times and 13 times respectively and last night picked me up in the enormous, black 1974 Ford Ranger that they bought. Ostensibly it was purchased so that loveablefaghag can learn how to fix cars, but I suspect that there is more to it, considering that they also wanted me to wear western gear to the bar last night. When I called last night to tell them to hurry it up, loveablefag was crying while watching a BBM fanvid. I did have to tell him that that's the term for it, and advised him to learn some fangeek speak if he's going to continue on in this new obsessive vein. And after that, another friend called and begged off coming with us and said to me, "Lucia! I'm watching Angel and Darla is in a box, and I just can't come out. You'll understand, right?"

And indeed I did. :)

what femme did, meta, btvs, recs?, buffy
