Other things on my mind of late:
-New ways to put orange-colored Autumn vegetables/roots into baked goods. eg. Pumpkin bread (I added pecans and used walnut oil instead of butter) and Sweet Potato Biscuits (I used yogurt and ate them with black-eyed peas).
-How versions of "typewriter" font figure on the movie posters for both Atonement and Adaptation, both of which are meta about the process of writing. i.e. typewriter font is a fetish for outdated technologies of writing, which carry connotations of "authenticity." Perhaps.
-How I feel a little badly for grumping on my parents about Prop 8 when they called me this morning from Indonesia. Not because Prop 8 isn't an enormous bummer, but because I think I was using it as an excuse to grump. Something similar happened last week when, at the intermission of the Jeffrey Foucault and Kris Delmhorst show [Which was so lovely! Especially her! I still 'ship them enormously.] I started randomly hating on Christmas to my sweetheart, then stopped and said, "I'm sorry, I'm apparently still having issues about my parents having moved to another country." Or maybe that's not similar, just emotionally intertwined.
Wish me luck with the two meetings I have next week with people I'm trying to convince to be on my exams/dissertation committee! Also, that I don't get any sicker than I've been feeling yesterday/today.
ETA: Also, random but SPN people I got a private message from someone who wants me to join some kind of movement to get Sarah Blake back on the show. I think it said something about having seen signs on my journal that I'd be into that. I mean, there are certainly indications on my journal that I like uh, women, and Supernatural, but did anyone else get a message like that? ETA some more: my theory is that this person probably like looked up people who had SPN het fic comms friended or something like that. *shrug*
