(no subject)
I am, as usual, drowning in work (and students who are unhappy with getting Bs, sigh), non-existent, behind on TV/fandom/LJ/the dishes/life, my cats are my primary fandom, etc.
But! I have a vid rec!
+ Still Alive by counteragent - meta/SPN (fandom) - Here was my feedback: "You know, I'm not sure if I've ever seen anything like this, exactly. A vid that's meta-reflexive on a specific fandom. Very cool and very well done, and - though I have no way of actually confirming this myself - far more accessible to someone not in SPN fandom than I'd have thought possible given the subject matter and how v. in-joke (and in-wank, sigh) we can be."
God, I don't talk about this much because I can't even parcel it out myself but my emotional responses to SPN fandom last year are so convoluted, especially because there's just no separating them from my emotional responses to the rest of my, er, life.
Unrelated, anybody going to writercon this summer? The last time I wrote Buffy fic it had Winchesters in it and even that was awhile ago, but I think I might go anyway, because it's not THAT far and um, I don't have teaching obligations that'll conflict (just studying for my QUALS, ack) and oh yeah, it was superfun last time! Plus, me + BtVS = forevs.
Also, last year eyesofmyeyes and I dressed up as Hermione and Ron respectively. At brunch this morning we considered going as Captain Hammer and Dr. Horrible. Because we are awesome.
