I am tired, menstrual, and feeling disconnected from LJ/fandom stuff.

But! I am in a good mood.

Because where I've been is off in work land, partially as a result of practicalities because kittyzams is going to be here this weekend so I need to get ahead, but also things have started clicking. \o/ Not only have I had thoughts about directions for my ( Read more... )

When I was diagnosed with SAD, it made a world of difference for me. Just being able to put a name on my problem, to know other people went through it, was a big help. Not to mention discovering there are ways of treating it! I've bought some "natural" light bulbs and some of those new energy efficient ones, which I've been told are suppose to help -- and they certainly do seem brighter, but if that doesn't work I'll go the next step to the special lighting. If I can afford it ...

What the heck are we doing living in the snow belt?

Well, I'm hoping that getting a lamp thingie will help (in addition to the realization that I'm not just crazy).

And I'm here to get educated. Ideally when I'm done with that I'll be scooting my way back to warmer climes.

No heading for warmth for me, I'm afraid -- my roots are too deep. In fact, my girlfriend is considering moving up here from Missouri, even though she hates winter, too. However, you can be assured that as soon as I'm making six figures as a writer I'll be getting a winter home somewhere much warmer than this, so I'll tell you all about it in, oh, 40 years.

Meanwhile, I get a longevity check in late December, so once the new tires are on the car I'll be checking for those special lamps.
