Today eyesofmyeyes and I were singularly unsuccessful in finding me Ron Weasley-esque attire at thrift shops. We ate brunch (best scones ever!) and I bought a purse. I am now in possession of a Griffindor tie however.
Also, yesterday while I wrote a SAD Sam-fucks-a-girl fic, onelittlesleep wrote [a totally ridiculous one]. I laughed.
My boy Dan always emails me about every "fannish" thing he hears about in the rest of the world/internet/media...but a little too late. Still, I found his "Dumbledore is gay" email this morning endearing. One day he may beat me to something "important."
I haven't been getting comment emails for 24 hours now. I think that when they all show up I may have a heart attack.
Oh, and re: FNL, WHERE THE HELL IS WAVERLY????? Meh. I liked her. I like smart girls + the boys who love them. Last season she name-checked Angela Davis. Also, who is going to write me Saracen/nurse!girl porn when the time is nigh? [Hey, did you notice that she's the "lesbian" from OTH? The one they put on the show for two seconds to assure us that PEYTON isn't gay?] Also, while I appreciate them finally acknowledging that--oh right!--there are a lot of latina/os in freaking TEXAS, can we only have one (main) person of color per gender on the show? And, despite my Tyra/Lyla shipping, I'm finding born-again!Lyla/Tim more interesting this time around. I'm not even going to address the Tyra/Landry murder-cover-up thing.
I still really love this show, but the seal has been broken. Or something. Sigh.
And I HATE the promos NBC makes for it. They're so...salacious/cheesey.
And--I'm lookin' at YOU mskatej--is anyone out there writing INTERESTING Lana-centric Smallville fic? You know, post-Luthor moral ambiguity and what not. And hi, damn but KK is hot. I know everyone (except parts of my flist) hates Lana, but seriously, that girl is smokin'. *has a moment* And hey, in keeping with the observations about racial representation from earlier in this post, I forgot to mention re: the SV premiere but I found it kind of interesting to see Lana IN CHINA wearing that crazy blonde wig, given the fact that KK is Eurasian but the show has her playing white.
P.S. D, I've been in and out doing laundry and chasing the Sammy beast down the alley, so if you've called I may have missed it.
