I just went to make a mix CD for cleaning purposes. I started out just taking things from my folders of songs that played on Supernatural. Then I added some Lucinda Williams, Joan Jett, Sleater-Kinney, PJ Harvey and Ani Difranco. It felt kind of like writing SPN het fic, or Winsister fic or whatever--that weird fic I write with lots of girls in it.
(BTW, did you know that Corin Tucker from Sleater-Kinney is a Buffy fan? In my extreme fangirly fantasies there are Sleater-Kinney Buffy vids.)
Not really related: many years ago in a yearbook-type thing for a conference I used to be on staff of there were "awards" and mine was "Most outspoken feminist who loves cock rock."
I wish I could talk to my father today, but he's out of the country. And I think I channeled some of the fear he told me he had when my mom was pregnant with me into my Sam Daddy!fic. Like a lot actually. Huh.
