That shit cracks me up.
I just finished my Firefly-a-thon that I've been having with my friend John. And I got my Serenity #3 comic today also. So, it's been a Firefly kind of day. I had been waiting to get my #3 until my #2 came in but it seems to be back ordered indefinitely and besides the people at the video store let my read their store copy. Here's a funny little BtVS related exchange that occured between me and one of the girls at the video store.
As my eyes catch on the "Buffy" calendar on the wall, I remark, "Is that one of the calendars where Buffy is every other month?"
The girl behind the counter looks up at me from where she is huddled in front of the computer screen with one of those "we be fen" glints in her eyes and says, "Well, that one is the Buffy centric calendar."
To which I reply, "Well, where in the heck is the Spike centric calendar?"
"In my bedroom," she says meaningfully.

Today at work, I was talking with my friend John about the fact that Joss is going to be on Veronica Mars and a female voice emerged from behind me with this unsolicited information: "So are Charisma Carpenter and Alyson Hannigan."
I swung my head around and saw that the girl who goes with the voice was wearing an AtS T-shirt. Without even blinking or saying the words "Vampire Slayer" we proceeded to ping pong back and forth about "Bones," "Kitchen Confidential," and "Smallville" while I rung up her book purchases. Her friend joined in when I remarked that DB is looking better than he did at the end of AtS by pointing out that you could tell that he "became a Dad and it showed." But I countered that JM is also a dad and a good 10 years older. Then the REAL truth comes out when the girls let out that they recently saw him in concert. And I seriously almost called him "JM" out loud. I wonder if they would have looked at me strangely or just nodded along.
It's things like this that make me wonder if these people that I see on the street, on the bus, in the video store, are they you? Did I slither past them online and not know it? WE ARE EVERYWHERE!
So there, you all got a somewhat fandom related post even if I haven't been writing any fic to speak of and pray that I'll soon get enough grad school crap done to free that corner of my brain from stress and guilt so it can once again start pumping out the porn, and hopefully some plot too...
