Video killed the Blogging Star.
Long time no talkie. I've not meant to neglect my LJ, and I still try to pop in and read my f-list, but it's just been incredibly, wonderfully busy around here. And I finally started liking Facebook! So I'm there a ton (http://www.facebook.com/danadetrick *hint*)
Awhile back, I got flustered over all of the GM bailout madness and how my dad was sitting around counting beans and thinking about jobs he could possibly get and all of the madness, and I wrote a song about it. This is not my normal 'inspiration' method. I'm artsy-fartsy. I don't like 'protest' music.
But I really did like this song, I recorded it, and I shared it with a few friends once the GM bankruptcy was actually filed. It resonated with people. So I made a video, and here it is:
For the record--so far so good with my dad. His health benefits are totally toast, but pension looks ok. Thank the Universe he's a health nut.
Edited to add: at about :37, you get a nice view of my mighty middle school mullet! I know that's going to be a turn on for at *least* a few of you.
