How rude. Who makes a prank phone call at 9 am? Seriously, college students should be in bed at that time. I mean how did that go, I could be sleeping but I think I'll call some random room in Beddow. *I know it was on campus because there wasn't a double ring.* Here's how the conversation went:
Me: "Hello"
Jackass: "Hi."
*pause*
Me: "Hello" (getting a bit irritated)
Jackass: "Hi."
*pause*
Me: "Um, can I help you."
*pause*
Jackass: "You mean you don't remember? It's Jon."
Me: "Oh, go to hell."
I hung up the phone.
Now, first of all, if you are going to prank someone, do it right. The pausing and the stuttering leaves you kind of unpolished. I am assuming it is a prank because if it were really someone calling that would have at least said who it was and who they were looking for right away. After I hung up the phone, I thought of a bunch of other things I could have said to the person, of how I could have screwed with the person a bit, or turned the whole thing around on him. Does anyone ever do that? Has someone ever tried to mess around with you, and in a weak moment you are left without anything witty to say, but as you are walking away come up with different scenarios and dialouge as to what you "should" have said. I do this all the time. It is so pointless but for whatever reason, it makes me feel better.
The pranks don't stop there. I have this phone number from West Virginia (I looked it up online) that has called my cellphone 10 times in the past 3 days. They always call at the same 2 times during the day, and I am either in class or working. They never leave a voicemail and when I try to call back, it is always busy. I finally had the opportunity to answer on Friday, and they hung up. WTF? The same number also called my house(in Roseville) and asked for me. At first I thought it was a salesman, but why would a salesperson call so damn much? Someone is going to show up to my room with guns, I know it.
Moral of the story: Didn't anyone ever tell these people not to play with the phone?
