Dear Philipe Lonestar,

Congratulations!  We are pleased to announce that the Ladyfest Bay Area Film
and Video Festival has selected Secret Picnic to screen at our upcoming
festival.  It will be screened as part of the shorts program on Friday, July
30 at ATA (Artist Television Access (992 Valencia St @21st).

Ladyfest Bay Area will be an inspirational festival. The festival will take
place July 29-August 1, 2004 in the Mission district of San Francisco and
will include films and video screenings, a lit fest, visual arts shows,
theatre performances, musical shows and workshops. The film and video
portion of the festival will feature over 40 films produced by women and
transgender artists. Curated by themes that push social and political
boundaries, the programs will offer cutting-edge film and video from both
established and emerging feminist artists.  In addition to the screenings,
there will also be two or three panels on contemporary topics in film and
video, hands-on production workshops, and a filmmaker©ˆs lounge where
participants can find film and video resources and meet other filmmakers. To
view a comprehensive festival schedule, please visit our website at
www.ladyfestbayarea.org starting next week.  Updates are posted daily as the
program participants and programs are confirmed.

We are very excited that you will be a participating artist in the Ladyfest
Bay Area festival.  In addition to showcasing a diverse range established
and emerging women and transgender artists, one of Ladyfest Bay Area©ˆs
primary goals is to contribute to local organizations that support
women/trans in the community and are in need of financial assistance.  The
beneficiaries for this year©ˆs festival are Sisterz of the Underground, a
feminist hip-hop collective, and Femina Potens, a feminist fueled art
gallery and performance space. If you are interested in donating your
artist©ˆs honorarium in support these non-profit organizations, please mark
the appropriate box on the contract.  Although not always financially
possible, your donations are greatly appreciated and contribute not only to
the festival©ˆs success, but also to the empowerment of women and girls in
the Bay Area community.

Thank you again for your entry in the festival.  We greatly look forward to
screening your film and seeing you at the festival.  If you have any
questions about your screening dates or festival arrangements, do not
hesitate to contact me.

Best,

Justina Cross
