So, we were gonna have a board game night this Thursday, but we're not. Obama's speaking at the DNC and we're big dorks like that, so will be watching*. It will probably be one day next week, depending on when Ciaran has off work.
I'm excited to have people over, though. As much as we had a lovely space in Northampton, we never fully settled in there, much less hosted. But here, we already have three distinct areas for playing, with three tables and a number of chairs to go around - we love tag sales.
By the way, local folks: when do you tend to be free? Weekday evenings? Weekends? 10 AM on a Friday? To which I extend out more generally from board game night and say, "wanna hang out?" E-mail me at lxgino @ gmail... I (we) like to do geeky things that (by and large) don't involve huge crowds of people.
* We're watching the DNC all week. Tonight had some bright moments, such as an appearance from Ted Kennnedy (I voted for him! In a primary, but still...) but mostly mediocre. I'm looking forward to see what Clinton does tomorrow, and will sadly miss Biden on Wednesday because I'm tutoring. Eep! The speeches will be on youtube, but where will I get my analysis from Mark Shields and David Brooks? I'd have to read the Times. Don't they know reading is hard**?
** OK, not actually***
