Blue eyes crying…
Erin Boag had not much expected that she’d have such a strong reaction to Brendan Cole’s idiotic words but she had seen the wince Natalie Lowe gave and when the woman bolted from the room she followed instantly, worried about the girl. She knew what it was like to be on the receiving end of one of Brendan’s idiotic outbursts but didn’t much mind him any more. Seeing the hurt in Natalie’s eyes had hurt though. A lot.
Natalie had only looked back when Erin caught up to her and stopped her with a light hand on her arm. The woman seemed to flinch away before she let the woman pull her closer and kiss her hair, relaxing at Erin’s soft touch.
“He’s not worth crying over Natalie.”
“Why did he say that?”
“Because Craig is a pompous ass who happens to come from Australia and has a big head.”
The laugh that broke free was light and musical and Natalie instantly relaxed, seeming to trust Erin’s insights. Both Natalie and Erin had been on the other side of Craig’s bad attitude and now they knew how to get past it, talk and relax together, the both definitely interested in one another.
