Witchcraft.

By Elizabeth Fox.

Vesta Spellman had always been the ‘bad girl’ of the family, a fact she lived up to with pleasure, she hadn’t bothered to think too hard about her old school friend and sometime lovers scheme she’d thought up, she had simply agreed to it. Her mind had been solely on exactly what Kimberly Dubrovnik was doing. The two would see the results later, for now they had time enough to spend in bed.

When the Dubrovnik family arrived on the Spellman family doorstep they noted the lack of welcome they got and rang the bell somewhat nervously, hoping they at least had the right house. Sabrina was the one to answer, admitting she had no idea they were meant to have visitors before inviting them in, calling for her aunts seconds later.

Once the two families had talked through the hints and surprises they’d been given they soon realised they spelt out a certain name… two certain names actually. The two groups had sighed, realising if they reacted then they would probably just provide comedy fodder for the other women.

Sabrina had instantly offered to give Kelly, the teenage daughter, a hand unpacking, seeing to not mind sharing her room with the girl. What nobody had seen was the mutual look they shared, both instantly drawn to the other. With the aid of a little magical muffling they instantly had the room soundproofed and fell to getting to know each other… intimately.

The four adults had been sat staring at one another before Katherine, the younger of the two sisters, asked Hilda to show her some of the better known areas of the town, neither woman giving much hint of their happiness at the idea of escaping the house and getting to know one another in a very taboo way.

This action left Kirsty and Zelda, the two eldest still at the table. They had shared several cups of tea as they tried to figure out what it was best to do before Zelda fell silent, seemingly bothered by something. It had always been her place to be the strong one but something told her she could relax around Kirsty and once she did she realised why, the woman’s touch gentle as she tucked a stray hair out of Zelda’s face, watching her intently.

“Are you okay?”

“Yes… No…” Zelda sighed softly, looking away.

“What’s bothering you?”

Kirsty’s hand found Zelda’s and covered it, the touch seeming to spur Zelda on.

“Why do I feel like I’ve known you forever?”

“Well, you’ve heard about the bond two witches can make… haven’t you?”

“Only… men and women.”

“No.” Kirsty smiled softly. “Not just men and women… anyone who has a different sexuality naturally gets it with their chosen gender… a specific person of that gender… for instance… I felt it with you.”

“You mean?”

“Yes.” Kristy smiled again, softer this time. “I mean we’ve finally found the right one.”
