The shouting had drawn several staff to the break-room. None entered and when Horatio entered the room they left quickly, he soon found himself ignored. He left silently, realising what he needed to do. Calleigh Duquesne was never this loud unless someone had seriously upset her. She currently sat with her head in her hands, fingers covering her blue-green eyes, blonde hair falling loose, dark clothes mussed.
Eric Delko glanced over at his boss. “Are you sure she’s alright?” The question was soft and he was clearly worried for her. He shook his head, brown eyes filled with warmth, straightening out his shirt and jeans before he left the office and headed for the break-room, knocking softly.
“Go away.”
“Cal…” Eric ignored her words and entered, shutting and locking the door behind him. “What’s wrong?” He settled quietly beside her, winding a long arm around her shoulders, drawing her closer as she cried. Her head came to rest on his shoulder and he sighed lightly. “Is it your father?”
“Yeah.”
“Cal… don’t let him get to you like this… it’s not worth the time.”
“He’s my father Eric…”
“I know.” Eric spoke softly. “Just tell him how you feel, if he won’t listen then try talking to friends…”
“Like who?”
“Like me.” Eric murmured, pulling her closer as he stroked her back. “I’ll always listen.”
“Promise?”
“Yes.”
