Abby lay alone on the street, her legs had finally given out… she wasn’t surprised. She’d not been drinking, but, she’d only recently been attacked. She lay still, trying to hide her pain as she curled up. Her normally bright brown eyes shone only slightly, her brown hair was a mess, tangled. She was far different from normal… less sparky.
Kerry had pulled her door open only a few seconds ago, now she stood, looking down at Abby, tears hiding in her blue eyes, her red hair cropped and slightly messed up. “Abby… stand up sweetheart…” She said it softly, sensing that Abby needed the gentle treatment. When she had Abby stood up, she drew her inside, first cleaning her face, then gently trailing a hand over Abby’s beaten face, Abby had winced slightly, pulling away before looking at Kerry with a sad sort of longing in her eyes… Kerry had moved slowly, gently, tenderly kissing Abby, her words fading as she kissed Abby again, tenderly, reassuringly.
