Ouch. Poor Boomer. Talk about "betrayer/betrayed."
So much hate! Rings true though; everyone she's ever loved has turned their back on her. I love that she's jealous of Six for just getting to see the Galacticans, even as she hates them.
Now that it's time, now that it might actually happen, she's not sure anymore what she'll do.
You've really captured how divided she is within herself. She doesn't love anyone she doesn't also hate and vice-versa. Now I remember why I loved her so much. Poor little toaster. :/
Cally is the only one who'd never lied. The only one to give it to her straight. I hate you. Hate was a simple emotion.
Oof. Except it's really not for her - I love how she tears into Caprica for identifying with the humans when you know that she's really talking about herself.
That's a cruel, cruel ending. ;p
Excellent!

*nods* When I sat down to write this, and tried to puzzle out Boomer's motivations, that was one of the things that struck me--Boomer, Athena, both of them love the members of Galactica, the people they've known forever, either through memories or reality.
when you know that she's really talking about herself.
YES. Exactly. *g*
I ended it where I had to, because I'm afraid of getting Ronned again, honestly.

I'm missing a bit or two of canon, but this had a strong Boomer voice, and the loss and frustation comes through clear. I like how the interactions between the Cylons are drawn.

I want more interaction, and maybe we'll get it, this season.

And I like her anger with Caprica, and how she's not willing to believe in co-existance with the humans anymore, because Sharon really not capable of handling any more relationships falling apart around her. And, man, that ending is perfect.

But then the new promos started showing, and I realized that, this is BSG, and it isn't going to be fluffy. So I re-watched Eye of Jupiter/Rapture, and was just struck by how often people seem to betray her. Caprica, her one ally, snaps her neck.
I think Boomer, far more than Caprica, wanted the New Caprica thing to work. She wanted the people she'd once called friends to love her again. And they didn't. She's so bitter to Athena, so sure that they can't accept Athena (and maybe some of them don't), that I have to wonder how many times she tried to make contact with the Galactica crew on New Cap.
Sigh. And now I will stop rambling. dear Ron, please give us more Boomer, thanks.

This is--I think it's actually a line someone has, somewhere, that the Cylon truly are a species built for conformity, except some of them keep breaking out (Caprica, Boomer, Athena, D'Anna), and trying to be more. And that's got to be a frightening prospect, on some level to them as a group. That there are these Cylons who want to be more than the collective. To actually become more than a number, a designation.
Sigh. I get thinky thoughts after watching too much Forensic Files, apparently.
