Yesterday Alice was skipping home, because that's the only way she traveled, when she spotted a turtle on the side of the road.
"Hello there, turtle. What are you doing today?" Alice inquired.
"I'm on my way to the Lonely Animals United meeting." replied the turtle, sadly.
"Why are you going there?" exclaimed Alice.
"Because I'm lonely," snapped the turtle.
"No need to be snapping, you're only a box turtle." chirped Alice.
"I know," sighed the turtle.
Alice couldn't stand the way the turtle's head hung especially low, so she had a suggestion: "Why don't you come over for tea? I try to have tea at least once a week when spring starts, it's a tradition." It wasn't really a tradition, but Alice was very proud of this proposal and started to think of what year this tradition should have been established. But before she could decide on a date and founder she was pulled out of her daydream by the turtle's hopeful, but still sad, "O.K." So Alice told the turtle to come at 3:30, because it was 3:25, and not to bring anything, because he didn't have anything to bring. She then proceeded to skip into the house and set the table with mountains of finger sandwiches, candy in every flavor and color, and loooooads of cakes, with tea of course. The turtle arrived at 3:30, carrying nothing, sat opposite Alice, and drank from a saucer. It was then that Alice and the turtle established the 3:30-cake-and-tea-and-friends club.

THE END.

ps. this story has no symbolic meaning, I'm just tired.
