Last night I dreamt as if I was watching a romantic comedy buddy movie from maybe the late 1950s/early 1960s. Although the details are becoming fuzzier, the plot and pictures were really developed at the time and it conformed to almost all the genre expectations. so was there dialogue between the characters? were you a person in the story or just an outside voyeur?

Good question. It felt like I was an audience member watching a real movie, and the characters talked to each other, but I don't remember any specifics of the dialogue beyond the woman telling the man to get her to California and later noting her gender status.

weinerwoman says the male lead was Cary Grant. That makes a lot of sense.
