Meet the Pyro
Click to viewSo Valve released probably the most hotly anticipated Team Fortress video ever this afternoon when they posted their Meet the Pyro video today. Pyro's been long considered the only (canon) woman on the team*, and there were a lot of high hopes for a possible unveiling of who Pyro really was under her mask. Think Boba Fett, but with less terrible prequels.
That... doesn't happen unfortunately. But there's still lots to talk about wrt to the video, I think, mostly because if valve didn't prove Pyro's a woman, they didn't disprove it either. I was talking with another member, sool about this, and how to take this video. Is Pyro a hardened killer or an irrational woman? Are the babies a "girls love babies" thing? Or is it more that Pyro just doesn't gaf about the other team as a "threat"? Normally, I'm not willing to give a gaming company any credit, but if Valve isn't necessarily progressive, they're not usually trying to pander to their fans either (looking at you bioware). Also, it makes for a more interesting discussion. What did you think when you met the pyro?
*unless you play with the lady heavy, etc. mods, of course!
