I went to donate blood today, but they don't want blood from someone who's only had sex with one person in their whole life. I sent this to the Red Cross using a form on their webpage:

I have only had sex with one person in my life, my boyfriend of three years, but since I'm male, this disqualifies me from giving blood. I donated twice before I met my boyfriend, but since I am now disqualified from giving blood, I would like to opt-out of receiving blood.

I would like to opt out of receiving Red Cross blood, since the risk of receiving blood from a female is too great. Most females I know have sex with at least one different person per week. A basic understanding of biology dictates that these females pose a greater risk to the general public than either me of my boyfriend. Both of us test negative for HIV, and neither of us have had sex with any other person during our three year relationship. Based on this, I believe that the Red Cross is out of touch with reality in regards to HIV transmission. If I require blood, I believe that a family member or a friend would be a preferable source than an anonymous female.

Please send me a form that will allow me to opt-out of receiving Red Cross blood if I ever need blood. I will keep a copy of this correspondence for my records.

Thank you.
