Congratulations are in order

I was catching up on people's lj entries and got to thinking...damn, my friends are brilliant.
Not only are they kind and caring and generous and always there for others and general all-round lovely people...they also include individuals who:

*have a really innovative business plan and are going to put it to the test in the next five years

*have won a major professional award for their music composition at an absurdly young age...and have not let that fact handicap them from continuing to produce more art

*have been showered with acceptance letters to creative writing programs across the pond

*have committed their life to saving the lives of others

*always get their story, and sometimes the story gets them on national radio

*come up with some of the most original and intelligent riffs on pop culture I've ever seen

*are on the cusp of revolutionizing number theory as we know it

*have made an actual living as a professional poet

*have made an actual living as a professional artist

*have figured out a way to spin gold out of the subprime market fiasco

*are some insanely good teachers (one of the most difficult arts of all, I think)

I am so damned lucky to have so many accomplished people in my wee little life.
