I should add that we, as a movement, should be distancing ourselves from racism, and racists. So taking money from individuals explicitly stating their racism and racist goals does not do this.
also, I cannot imagine a WOC wanting to go to a clinic that is funded by individuals who want them to cease to exist.

I can see that if Planned Parenthood was somehow trying to convince WOC to have abortions instead of considering all of their options. However, if a WOC needed/wanted an abortion and couldn't afford it, I see it as kind of an ironic victory that this woman would get to use money from some overtly racist person in order to help her.
I agree with you about distancing feminism from racism, but if overt racists are stupid enough to think that PP is in the business of eugenics, then I'm glad they're giving their money to PP instead of using it for other kinds of evil.

Except.. you know... that WOC has had to deal with a variety of kind of racism up until that moment...and may not see it as ironic, she might view it as a 'damn - I don't have all the options open to me to have kids that others have and now I have to rely on the funds of a racist to even handle this.

But you might want to read the article. The real issue was that the call was from a pro-life group trying to link PP with racism (which they did) and wasn't from an actual overt racist group.

Yeah, you're right about the perspective of the WOC... POC just shouldn't have to deal with that crap and PP shouldn't be saying "understandable" to what was said on the phone.
That's pretty low for a pro-life group to be trying to do that, I should read the article. It annoys me that instead of trying to help women and children, they're playing phone pranks and trying to discredit PP.

In my 3 years doing clinic defense, I'm sad to say it doesn't surprise me anymore. The stuff I have heard said is absolutely disgusting.

Off-topic: your icon is SO FAMILIAR to me but I can't for the life of me remember what that is from. I want to say it's from a CD-ROM game in the 90's??

It's from a tv show that aired in the U.S. on PBS (I think) called "Square One." It's from the bit called "Mathman." The tornado is named Mr. Glitch, and I think he was the bad guy who came along when Mathman did something wrong.
On the recording provided by The Advocate, an actor portraying a donor said he wanted his money used to eliminate black unborn children because "the less black kids out there the better."
Kersey laughed nervously and said: "Understandable, understandable. ... Excuse my hesitation, this is the first time I've had a donor call and make this kind of request, so I'm excited and want to make sure I don't leave anything out."
Explain to me why you'd think that this type of person has the best interests of WOC at heart?
