US: Where's the outrage?

Okay, I'm totally disappointed and pissed off by the lack of response to this post I made about how the mortgage crisis is effecting women. I know that I'm not the first one to say this, but it just seems that often more petty issues get all of the attention. Things like the pros and cons of tampons and specific incidents involving only one or two women. It's easier to relate to something when it has human face on it. I'm as guilty of that as anyone. But, let me try and put this whole subprime lending thing in perspective.

If you are a woman you will pay more if you choose to buy a house or a co-op or a condo on your own. You will be charged 1000s of dollars that you will never see again. You're only option for avoiding this is getting married. So you all had better find a man and get hitched if you expect to own your own place, otherwise, plan to remain in the hell that is RENTING for the rest of you life. Why do you have to pay more? Not because you have debit or a bad credit score, not because you don't have a good job, no: YOU PAY MORE BECAUSE YOU ARE A WOMAN. that's it. End of story. Fork it over.

The NAACP has a lawsuit against the banks they feel are most responsible for racism in the lending crisis. These banks are:

*Ameriquest
*Fremont Investment & Loan
*Option One, WMC Mortgage
*Long Beach Mortgage
*BNC Mortgage
*Accredited Home Lenders
*Encore Credit
*Bear Sterns
*First Franklin Financial
*HSBC Finance
*Washington Mutual

You might want to think about closing your account. I've closed mine! I think that NOW should also bring a class action suit: I suspect that the banks who have this systemic problem with racism in their lending practices are the same ones responsible for the sexism that is hurting millions of women.

These women are losing their homes. If they keep them they are paying more: FOR NO REASON.

So, I'm brining this up again. I want some help coming up with the best ideas about what we should do. Let's not yawn this one off. Maybe I'm overreacting, but I don't think so.
