1) would your reprsentative consider putting in an amendment that would ban gaucho pants? I think they are oppressive, by which I mean, terribly unflattering. Also, those "dress shorts", leggings without skirts over them, ugg brand boots whenever it is not snowing and empire waist tops.

Gaucho pants are nice if it's a "fuck it, I'm-a stay home, watch movies, eat fatty foods and sip whiskey" kind of day. Formal shorts, on the other hand, are never OK.
Also, when Ugg boots first started being fashionable, I read so much commentary from rural Australians who were like "Ha ha ha! We only wear those when we're walking out to slop the pigs/pick up the newspaper/whatever!"

don't get me wrong, ugg boots are seriously awesome here in the northern midwest because they keep your feet nice and warm. But I think west coasters who wear them with miniskirts are oppressing me...or y'know, look kinda dumb. I also feel women are deeply oppressed by the trend of high school age girls wearing nothing but long underwear.

you just think you love the dress short because you were obviously raised in a backward, dress-short wearing, patriarchal culture that made you wear dress shorts. Shorts are never appropriate for formal situations, to believe otherwise is unfeminist.

obvi.
i might have to seriously look into my dress-short wearing habits. thank you for bringing this matter to me. i suppose i'd better renounce my gauchos too.

Just as an fyi: Skinny jeans are being hotly debated in the Feminist Fashion Rules Society as we speak. We're stuck on whether skinny jeans are inherently oppressive or only oppressive when tucked into boots.

I agree. Those dress shorts are infiltrating my office building, and nothing is sillier than shorts with knee-high boots and a massive sweater, because, hey it's 30 degrees out, and if you're cold, you can't think about feminism.
2) will you marry me?

I should just be banned from feminist until I throw out all my skinny jeans, gauchos, and leggings.
