This is kind of in response to my own post about Caitlin Flanagan(American author, wants women bare-foot and pregant type deal) on the Colbert Report(American pundit talk show satire about arrogant ultra-conservatives).
Do you think the desire of a woman to be a sort of slave to her husband has more to do with own personal issues/mental issues than it does with logical/religous/emotional belief that is how things work best? I'm not speaking of masochism here, though that could very well be a reason. I'm not well versed in psychology either, but I'm curious what others think about it. The behavior seems so out of place, wrong. But wrong, not in the sense of morality, but as something doesn't it fit. Somehow their mind functions with chemical imbalance, trauma, diease, etc. Not much different from schizophrenia, body dismorphic disorder, depression, ocd, etc.
I'm not exactly claiming this need/though process is deviant or not deviant or what have you. Just every time I hear it, unless its obviously used for popularity/power gain, something about these women seems off.
