i went to a meeting yesterday for a political group where my friend's the secretary.. afterwards we were talking about something that bothered her.. we had discussed this before.. i never really notice this as much because i'm quiet and used to people not listening to me for that very reason.. but she's really frustrated because she said that in her experience with politics, women aren't taken seriously unless they either act stupid and get babied, or are veiwed as sexual beings.. she says that when women try to speak up they're considered a bitch and not listened to.. this girl is really smart and i know this is bothering her but she's not about to compromise her ideals so that the boys club will listen to her.. has anybody else ever experienced this? how would you respond?
